Stavanger Concert Hall

Stavanger Concert Hall is a world class musical venue. The concert hall was designed, planned and built to accommodate a full range of musical genres, theatre and other art forms. This is a house for everyone and is the jewel of the Bjergsted Culture Park.

The concert hall has two custom tailored halls – one for acoustic music and a multi-purpose hall for amplified music and other performances. The multipurpose Zetlitz hall is the premier venue for pop, rock and musical theatre. The hall’s flexibility is unique – the hall, stage and acoustics can be reconfigured quickly. The hall can hold up to 1900 spectators – and can accommodate a loud rock concert without disturbing a string quartet playing in the adjacent acoustic hall.

The magnificent Fartein Valen acoustic hall has 1,500 seats and acoustics of the highest international standard. The Fartein Valen is home to the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and will likely attract repeat visits by world-class conductors, soloists and touring orchestras.

A building for more than music

Stavanger Concert Hall is first and foremost for music, though the building, 27 meters high and 91 meters long, is open for use to far more than meetings between artists and their audience. And it will be natural to stop in – at any time.

The amphitheatre and park also are constructed to encourage frequent use, regardless of the event. The glass foyer virtually eliminates the boundary between the inside and the outside, with panoramic views of both the sea and the mountains to the east.

The foyer is home to the “Spiseriet” restaurant with dining options that reflect the diversity and character of Bjergsted Culture Park. Drop by for a quick lunch or complement an evening concert with dinner there. Conference organizers can have meals served to a large number of participants and have use of both the bar and the VIP rooms.
